My grandparents
lived in Delaville Road,
right across from the valley.
And whenever children were
playing at home,
the sound of the nets would carry.
As I grew older
I went to the ground
and joined in with the singing.
I became one voice in
a very big sound
It's so great now that
we're winning
So when Saturday comes,
there's no time for bums,
there's no time for losers at all
But when the Robins sing,
it's a happening thing,
there's no time to take your
eye off the ball
Down in the valley, one,
two, three, four, five,
it's in the net, so say goodbye
Down in the valley where
the robins wait
Drums keep beating as the
new dawn breaks
Tears in the tunnel and
emotions burn high
We're back in the run
and our dreams are alive
So when Saturday comes,
there's no time for brumps
There's no time for losers at all
But when the Rockets sing
There's a happening thing
There's no time to take your
eye off the ball
Down in the valley with the mountain ants
Gifts and the red shirts and
the woolen hats
The jump is needed in the
government stance
This is the passion of the Charlton fans
It's another great reason
why you want to be
In South East London with the family
So when sanity comes,
there's no time for grunts
There's no time for losers at all
But when the robins sing,
it's a happening thing
There's no time to take
your eye off the ball
So when sanity comes
And when the robins sing,
it's a happening thing.
At the end of the day,
we're gonna roll up our sleeves
It's a game of two hearts,
if you know what we mean
We are over the moon, or as sick as a bone
And if that's life from the end,
the only way is up
At the end of the day,
we're gonna roll back our sleeves
It's a game of two hearts,
if you know what you mean
We are all the good men,
all the saviors of the world
