I was
born in the
shade of the pines in Carolina
and raised by my mama's
good love in Tennessee.
My daddy was a working man
and he taught me this great big land
Was mined from the shores of sea
to shining sea
I sowed my seed in the fields
of Oklahoma
Planted my roots on the
banks of the Rio Grande
With God's help raining on me
I'll raise my family tree
And hold on to this land
and make my stand
I'm a home -grown man,
made in America
My roots run deep, my blood runs red
This lady is mine,
and I'm gonna cherish her
I'm a home -grown man, made in America
I've been burned by the wind
on the plains of North Dakota
And cooled by the rain
in the Rocky Mountains high
One thing I never will be
is anything else but free
I swear that's the way
I'll stay until I die
I've never been the kind of man
that's known for fighting,
but believe me,
I'll stand my ground to hold this land.
There's a lady named Liberty,
and she needs you and me
to keep that bright light
burning in her hand.
I'm a homegrown man
made in America.
My roots run deep, my blood runs red
This lady is mine,
an d I'm gonna cherish her
I'm a homegrown man,
made in America
I'm a homegrown man,
made in America
My roots run deep, my blood runs red
This lady is mine,
and I'm gonna chase her
I'm a homegrown man
made in America
