All the streets of
Rome are filled with rubble
Ancient footprints are everywhere
But you could almost think that
you're seeing double
On a cold, night on a
Spanish stair
Got to hurry home, back to my,
my hotel room
Well, got me a date with
Botticelli's niece
She promised she'd be
right there with me
When I paint my masterpiece
Why are the hours that
I spend inside the
Coliseum
Dodging lions and wasting time?
All them mighty kings of the jungle,
I could hardly stand to see them
Well, it sure has been a long, climb
Green wheels are running
through the back of my memory
And I ran down the hilltop,
followed by a pack of wild geese
Someday, everything is gonna
be smooth like a rhapsody
When I paint my masterpiece
I left
Rome, landed in
Brussels I took a plane ride,
so bumpy I almost cried
A clergyman in uniform,
young girls pulling muscles
Everyone was there but me
when I stepped inside
Newspaper men eating candy
I had to be held down by big police
Well, someday everything's
gonna be different
When I paint on my masterpiece
I'm going
Thank for
Thank you.
